Larry Chang, Board Member
Larry is an accomplished entrepreneur, CEO and COO with extensive experience bringing new technologies and solutions to market, leading government contracting organizations, and monetizing corporate assets. He has 28 years of experience managing software development projects, overseeing corporate operations, designing complex systems, and executing high-risk technology programs as well as in all facets of corporate management and governance. He is consistently able to anticipate technology market trends and formulate solutions that meet customers’ operational mission objectives. His uncompromising integrity and unwavering customer focus have earned him industry-wide recognition, and he has developed long-standing relationships within the U.S. Government DOD and intelligence communities. He presently serves as a management and technology consultant for DoD and healthcare industry clients in addition to other executive roles:

Larry has worked in the Federal IT Services industry since 1990, first as a project manager for GTE Government Systems where he managed an engineering team that completed the development of a complex network monitoring and management system which is still in operation today. He co-founded and launched Edge Technologies, Inc. (Edge) in 1995 with a focus on the government and commercial communications, telecommunications, and network security markets and served as President and CEO there until 2009. During his tenure with Edge, Larry leveraged emerging technologies and positioned Edge as an industry leader, winning patents for Edge enPortal™, the only secure and real-time software platform designed specifically for enterprise management, and for the Content Transform Proxy technology (renamed Data Alchemist), a content assurance and cyber defense product. Edge’s other innovations and industry firsts include: N-Vision, the first web-interface to HP’s Openview™; View-on-the-Web, a secure on-line surveillance service which was later sold to WatchMe-Grow; Web-MGI, a joint venture that produced the first on-line transactional database service for the Agricultural industry; and Edge AppBoard™, a data ingestion and visualization tool.
After completing the strategic sale of Edge’s government services business to FGM, Inc. in 2009, Larry went on to serve as Chief Operating Officer and then successfully positioned FGM for sale to private-equity backed Novetta Solutions, LLC in 2012. He served as Novetta’s Senior Vice President for Operations and helped to grow the company to over 500 staff members, then elected to return to his entrepreneurial roots with Taveekan Capital. Larry is a recognized technology and industry leader who has addressed audiences that range from the local Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) to national HP and IBM forum events and international Cyber and Network Management conferences. He has served on numerous technology panels and forums alongside former U.S. Congressman Tom Davis, Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger, Internet “father” Vinton Cerf, and many others. He has been appointed to the Virginia District Export Council twice by Secretaries of Commerce Evans and Gutierrez.
Larry also supports several local charities and civic organizations including the Optimist Club, the Sweet Julia Grace Foundation, Serve Our Willing Warriors and Hero Homes, and he actively serves on the board of the Healing Hearts Respite Foundation.
Larry holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech and an M.B.A. from George Mason University.
